KAROO NEWS - South Africa's local government elections will be held on 1 November to elect councils for all district, metropolitan and local municipalities in each of the nine provinces.
This weekend is earmarked for voter registration. All voting stations will be open between 08:00 and 17:00.
You can find your voting station by using the IEC website's Voting Station Finder, and follow this link: https://maps.elections.org.za/vsfinder/
Voters are only allowed to vote at the voting station where they are registered.
If you have moved since the last municipal election, it is important to register where you currently live. If this is your first time registering to vote, please note that you must be a South African citizen and 18 years old to vote.
To register to vote, you will need to provide a valid identity document in the form of either a green, barcoded ID, Smart ID card, or temporary identification certificate. You can also register online at www.elections.org.za.
