NATIONAL NEWS - Nearly R60 million in poached abalone has been seized in a series of operations across the Western Cape this month.
In the latest bust, a motorists was arrested on the N1 near Worcester with perlemoen valued at more than R4 million in his possession.
Marine and Cape Point rangers arrested five suspects with an assortment of illegal marine life from limpets to abalone on Friday morning.
In another incident tour guides were arrested after they were found with abalone in their possession in the Cape of Good Hope Section of the Table Mountain National Park.
