MOTORING NEWS - TurboDirect, South Africa's largest turbocharger and performance product supplier, has introduced a PowerMax turbocharger upgrade for the 2011 to 2015 Ford Ranger 3,2 diesel models.
Their Honeywell Garrett PowerMax is a direct-fit turbocharger designed for the Duratorq five-cylinder diesel engine platform found in the 2011 to 2015 Ford Ranger PX and Mazda BT-50.
With the correct engine calibration, the unit will enable the engine to produce 172kW of power. The original equipment delivers 147kW.
Adding hardware upgrades like exhaust, intake and intercooler should allow power levels of around 200kW, TurboDirect says.
The upgrade will cost R15 500 excluding VAT and will include oil, oil filter and new OEM gaskets.
