ABERDEEN NEWS — Over the last few weeks, large groups of CWP workers in Aberdeen have been clearing up at the town cemetery.
The main area was cleared first and is now free from weeds and litter. Sadly many of the headstones have been vandalised, with pieces chipped off, and in several cases, the headstones have been knocked over, but at least the area has been neatened up.
Last week, the workers were seen clearing the old coloured cemetery outside of the walls, and huge piles of thorns and other debris were accumulated.
An area that badly needs attention still is the area under the bridge, at the Grey Street entrance, which is littered with broken glass, empty plastic bottles, and other unsavoury rubbish.
This is the main entrance used by tourists and visitors to the cemetery, and at present gives a very unfavourable impression.
