GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The South African Weather Service has issued weather warnings for this weekend.

A cold front is expected to reach the south-western part of the Western Cape by Saturday morning, resulting in near gale to gale force north-westerly winds (50-74km/h). 

The strong winds will be between (A) Cape Columbine and Cape Agulhas from Saturday morning becoming south-westerly by evening, spreading to (B) Plettenberg Bay by Saturday evening until Sunday afternoon. 

The high pressure system south-west of the country behind the cold front is expected to result in heightened waves, resulting in westerly to south-westerly swell, with wave heights of 5.0 to 6.0 meters between Lamberts Bay and Cape Agulhas from the afternoon, spreading to Plettenberg Bay on Sunday morning until Sunday afternoon, resulting in very rough and choppy seas.
