Weather: Pleasant along the coast but warm to hot in the Karoo on Monday

GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The South African Weather Service has issued a fire warning for the Karoo.

Extremely high fire danger conditions are expected in places over the Dr Beyers Naude local municipality of the Eastern Cape, and the Kareeberg local municipality of the Northern Cape on Monday, 18 August.

Regional weather forecast:

Western Cape
Morning fog in places in the south and south-west, otherwise fine and cool to warm. It will be partly cloudy along the west, and south-west coast.

The wind along the coast will be moderate to fresh north-westerly, but south-westerly along the south coast.

The expected UVB sunburn index: Moderate

Western half of the Eastern Cape
Morning fog patches in places, otherwise fine and cool to warm. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate westerly to south-westerly.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape
Morning fog in places south of the escarpment, otherwise partly cloudy and cool to warm, with isolated showers and thundershowers in the east.

The wind along the coast will be light to moderate southerly to south-easterly.
