GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The greens of the Graaff-Reinet golf club saw enthusiastic golfers on 1 May as players gathered for the American Scramble Competition. Securing first place with an impressive 60 points were Rob Hobson, Fanie Bezuidenhout, Hansie van der Mesh, and L Basson.
Close behind, Frikkie Coetzee, Jacques Wagener, Yvonne Drummond, and John Luscombe claimed second place with 55 points, followed by Colin Warner, Dan Yeadon, Denzil Vrolik, and J Vrolik in third place, also with 55 points.
On Saturday, the Club Championship IPS Competition showcased remarkable performances. Johndré Ludick led the A Division with 77 points, while Derek Helm dominated the B Division with 78 points.
Jacques Wagener emerged victorious in the C Division, securing the win with 69 points. Looking ahead, golf enthusiasts can anticipate more thrilling competitions. The IPS Competition is scheduled for 8 May, promising another round of exhilarating play. Then, on 10 May, the Sundowner Competition will set the stage for the Bonus Bogey Competition, taking place on Saturday, 11 May.
