UPDATE: The Lootsberg Pass just reopened for traffic

The Wapadsberg Pass on the R61 between Graaff-Reinet and the Loodsberg Pass between Middelburg and Graaff-Reinet are currently closed to traffic due to heavy snowfall.

KAROO NEWS - The Lootsberg Pass just reopened for traffic, but unfortunately the Wapadsberg Pass is still closed. Motorists are urged to take caution when driving through these areas.

The Wapadsberg Pass on the R61 between Graaff-Reinet and the Loodsberg Pass between Middelburg and Graaff-Reinet are currently closed to traffic due to heavy snowfall. 

The Department of Transport recommends that motorists delay their travel time or use alternative routes until further notice.
