GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Union High Schoo’s first cricket team delivered a strong all-round performance against Cradock High School on Saturday 30 January, after winning the toss and choosing to bat.
The team posted a solid total of 354 in 50 overs, built around a fine unbeaten 136 from Richard Murray.
Captain Yaseen Kazi added a composed 91, while Callum Jacobs’ quick 63 helped Union finish their innings on a positive note.
In reply, Cradock found it tough against a disciplined Union bowling attack and were bowled out for 47.
Yonela Wana impressed with five wickets and Kazi followed up his batting with a tidy spell of five for 18.
It was a rewarding team effort and a valuable learning experience for everyone involved.
Richard Murray was a deserving man of the match for his outstanding innings.
