GRAAFF-REINET NEWS & VIDEO - Animal lovers from Graaff-Reinet gathered at the local SPCA on Friday to enjoy a Valentine's tea in the garden to show their love for their four footed friends and other creatures.

Approximately 50 people bought tickets at R50 each and enjoyed a morning of socialising, delicious cake, pie and other snacks under the trees.

Ronel Krige, vice-chairperson of the SPCA's board of directors, welcomed the guests and thanked them for their support. Krige said the fundraiser was the first of its kind for the local SPCA, but certainly not the last.

A total of R3 510 was raised, and pet food and other donations were received from ABSA Graaff-Reinet and Montego.
