GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The Swartberg Pass, between Prince Albert and Oudtshoorn, is closed due to dangerous conditions following severe weather.
Garden Route District Municipality teams will resume clean-up operations as soon as water levels and conditions allow safe access.
The pass is closed until further notice.
We urge all road users to:
- Adhere to all road closure notices
- Avoid unnecessary travel in affected areas
- Never attempt to cross flooded roads
Meiringspoort closed
- Meiringspoort (route between Beaufort West and Oudtshoorn) is closed due to flooding
- Alternative route to Oudtshoorn from Beaufort West is the N9 via Aberdeen
- Clean-up operations will resume once water levels subside
- Closed until further notice
- Motorists are urged to adhere to road closure notices
- Do not cross flooded roads
