COOKHOUSE NEWS - Cookhouse Crime Prevention members received information about a hitchhiker on the N10 road to Bedford who was possibly in possession of drugs on Tuesday at about 15:45.
Police swiftly mobilised and followed-up the information. They found the male fitting the description at the intersection of N10/R63 leading to Bedford.
A body search was conducted by the members and the male was found in possession of 20 Boss Mandrax tablets and also five sachets of tik weighing almost 40 grams.
The estimated street value of the drugs is R14 000.
The 37-year-old male was arrested for dealing in drugs and appeared in Somerset-East Magistrate Court on Wednesday 8 September on the charges brought against him.
