GARDEN ROUTE | KAROO NEWS - The Heart to Heart Care Centre’s Orphaned and Vulnerable Children’s Programme was launched in 2003.
It’s the time of the year again for the care centre’s Annual Christmas Boxes of Joy initiative.
The centre aims to give 150 orphaned or vulnerable children a box.
Last year, the goal was also to bless 150 children and due to the overwhelming response, the centre was able to bless 212 orphaned or vulnerable children from nine primary schools and two high schools.
Members of the community and businesses are asked to sponsor a Christmas Box of Joy.
"Your investment of R300 will allow us to share Christmas joy," a Heart to Heart spokesperson said.
Each child will receive an outfit and shoes; basic toiletries such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, soap and facecloth; a game or toy; snacks and sweets; and educational supplies (stationery pack).
The Christmas Boxes of Joy will be made up by Heart to Heart volunteers and staff. Each box will be handed to a child personally.
If you would like to help, contact Heart to Heart (044 693 0828, 082 956 1041, admin@heart2heart.org.za, Facebook: Heart to Heart Care Centre South Africa or Instagram: Heart_to_Heart_Mbay).
You are more than welcome to go to the office at 68 Apiesdoring Street, Heiderand (New Life Church), and write your personal Christmas message to the child whose gift you will be sponsoring.
The deadline for donations is 18 November.
Children are delighted to receive their Christmas boxes.
