CRADOCK NEWS - No criminal charges are being investigated against the parents of two sisters, who illegally took the siblings away from their guardian in Cradock and fled to Tshwane.
"The parents are now staying at a shelter, provided they will deliver a service to the shelter," said Captain Lariane Jonker, Cradock SAPS spokesperson.
The Themba Magistrate's Court withdrew charges of kidnapping against them.
The two sisters were with their grandfather, who was appointed by the court as their legal guardian. On Friday 13 December, the girls were scheduled to visit their parents, as stipulated by the court.
When they did not return, their grandfather reported them as missing at Cradock SAPS.
The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit received a tip-off and on Monday 16 December, the girls were found with their parents at a shelter outside Tswane. Jonker said the minors are back in Cradock with their grandfather and the Departement of Social Services is monitoring the situation.
