GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Graaff-Reinet Raptors Martial Arts Club, that has been active for three years, recently combined its groundwork grading in jiu-jitsu and grappling with its birthday celebrations.
In addition to the Raptors who attend Laer Volkskool reported on last week (Laer Volkskool Raptors gradeer, Graaff-Reinet Advertiser, 6 February 2025).
The following students also graded to a white sleeve:
Lilly Brunette, Akeem Christoffels, AJ Cronjé, Chloe-Anne Fourie, Elizabeth Fourie, Leeran Goliath, Richard Holloway, Grace Kitching, Phillip le Roux, Renaldo Oosthuizen, George Phillips, Leshandré Roman, Darryl Tennant, Mieke van den Bosch and Skye van Loggerenberg.
The following students graded to a grey sleeve:
Jaqwan Ahmed, Matthew Christoffels, Marlon Christoffels, Sinead Christoffels, Johannes (Joe) Gildenhuys, Kemar Klasse, Reaglin Maarman, Alexander Olivier, Liam Pienaar, Frederik Steynberg, Gert Theron, Arno van der Merwe, Jean Ernest van Wyngaard and Jennavieve Woods.
Raymond van Zyl graduated to a green sleeve.
The sleeves are attached to students' martial arts belts to indicate their level of groundwork. The grey sleeve is one level above the white sleeve, indicating that these students' groundwork is intermediate.
Students whose groundwork is advanced grade to the green sleeve.
