GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The strong team from the Outeniqua Bowling Club in George walked away with the Gem of the Karoo title and a winner's cheque for R12 000 last Saturday.
This was the biggest bowling tournament since the Covid-19 pandemic reached our shores with 144 players from 36 teams in action over the three days.
Niel Colyn, Club President of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club, said everyone enjoyed the competition, although they had to experience four seasons over the playing period.
"Luckily, the few raindrops that came down did not deter the players from having a lot of fun."
The runners-up were three members of the Graaff-Reinet Bowling Club, namely Charlene Colyn, Deon and Sonja Matthee and Shane Goby (skipper), from the Port Elizabeth Bowling Club.
