GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The One's Fate Foundation delivered on their commitment to donate sanitary towels to schoolgirls on Thursday and Friday last week.
They covered two municipalities and four towns, eventually donating sanitary towels to 18 different beneficiaries.
"Our initial plan was to cover 15 schools, but we added two primary schools in Pearston and we also donated to the Vuyani Safe Haven," says Chairman Mbulelo Tini.
Thembalesizwe Primary School also received pre-owned uniforms and Khanyisa Day Care Center received recreational equipment.
"We want to thank the Department of Education who made our initiative possible," says Tini.
"We believe that, with the support of communities, our programmes will grow every year. No girl child should be prevented from attending school due to menstruation."
He added that they have now been enabled to liaise directly with the Learner Support Agents (LSA's) at schools when they have programmes like these.
Kaalvoet Mzanzi
The foundation also collaborated with the Kaalvoet Mzanzi Foundation who delivered school shoes in Pearston on Friday.
This foundation, established by Anele Ngoyo, aims to maximise community investment by selling merchandise and using the proceeds to provide school shoes for learners.
"Kaalvoet Mzansi Foundation aims to do much more than just donate shoes. We engage meaningfully with learners and address critical issues through initiatives such as the anti-bullying campaign, self-worth programmes and the Leading Your Today for Tomorrow-initiative," says Ngoyo.
All of these initiatives are implemented in collaboration with the One's Fate Foundation. "We see ourselves as agents of change. If you want us to bring change to your school, please contact us at aengoyo@gmail.com or at 067 868 3631."
Ngoyo thanked those who have purchased their merchandise. "When you buy a T-shirt, hoodie, or jacket from Kaalvoet Mzansi, you are not just purchasing clothing, you are contributing to restoring the dignity of learners," he says.
"We are especially grateful for the support of those who have donated school shoes, and our partner, the One's Fate Foundation, who has the same heartbeat for the underprivileged."
The Kaalvoet Mzanzi Foundation is currently collecting 200 pairs of schoolshoes. If you who would like to contribute, please contact them.
