GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Much-needed rain fell across Graaff-Reinet over the weekend, with a total of 11mm measured.

The town saw cloudy, rainy and windy days on Friday (9 October) and Saturday (10 October), with the sun peeking out again on Sunday afternoon. 

According to Acting Municipal Spokesperson, Edwardine Abader, 11mm of rainfall was measured over the weekend. Resident Thinus Ferreira reported that he has measured a total of 35.5mm of rainfall in the area of Laer Volkskool for October thus far.

"The level of the Nqweba Dam was 15.95% on 12 October," Abader told the Advertiser on Tuesday.

In true Karoo fashion, temperatures are expected to rise, with a high of 32° C forecasted for Friday, 16 October. Saturday will see plenty of sunshine and a high of 37° C, with a cooler, cloudy 31° C forecasted for Sunday.
