GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Today's load-shedding schedule for Graaff-Reinet will not be implemented. It has been cancelled as a result of the fact that the entire town was left without electricity from yesterday morning until just after 8 last night after a surge arrestor at Hangklip has been damaged.
The surge arrestor was repaired after Eskom managed to source equipment for repairs from King Williams Town.
The decision not to implement load-shedding for today was at the request of the Dr Beyers Naude local municipality. Eskom agreed but did not indicate until what time Graaff-Reinet will be exempted.
