CRADOCK NEWS - "She's been an Amy's angel from primary school to her first day at university. She is so special and an incredible inspiration to all of us," says Irvin Tam, managing director of Amy Bell Charities in Cradock, about Zanele Mahala.
Zanele was drawn into the loving circle at Amy Bell Charities after a bilateral amputation.
She was equipped with a wheelchair and walking aids until she could be fitted with prosthetic legs through the assistance of Amy Bell Charities.
Mahala officially started her first year at Nelson Mandela University last week, where she will be pursuing a degree in tourism.
As she walked through the doors of university for the very first time, Amy Bell Charities were beside her.
This new adventure should bring her knowledge, growth and endless opportunities.
"This is more than just the beginning of her academic career.
It is a testament to her resilience, her hard work, and her refusal to let her disability stand in the way of her dreams.
She is a living reminder that determination can open any door, and that resilience can build a future beyond what once seemed possible," states Tam.
