KLIPPLAAT NEWS - Siyavuya Jeyi (18) from Jansenville and Endinako Jola (15) from Klipplaat are through to the SAs after participating in the Eastern Province Athletics 5 km Trials in Despatch on Saturday 31 August.
Jeyi won the race with a time of 15:42.128 and Jola ended second with 15:42.583. They will now be representing the Eastern Cape at the SA Athletics Championships scheduled to take place in Bloemfontein in October.
Following three qualifying cross-country races, including the Eastern Cape Cross-Country Championships in Kariega earlier this year, Jeyi and Jola will also be participating in the SA Cross-Country Championships in the Free State on 7 September.
Both Jeyi, a learner at Jansenville Senior Secondary, and Jola, a learner at Gcinubuzwe Senior Secondary in Jansenville, are trained by Luthando Sikiwe who has been training athletes in Jansenville and Klipplaat for the past five years.
