SOMERSET-EAST NEWS - Local police are investigating an attempted murder after a shooting incident in Somerset-East on Thursday 1 April.

According to police spokesperson, Capt Bradley Rawlinson, a 42-year old man was found by Somerset-East emergency services with a gunshot wound to his right lower thigh after they were notified by an anonymous caller.

"When they arrived on scene they found the man laying in a street in Aeroville. The victim was stabilised and transported to the Andries Vosloo hospital," he said.

A case of attempted murder has since been opened.
