KAROO NEWS - The Department of Community Services in the Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality (DBNLM) has initiated a clean-up of illegal dumping sites around Asherville, Santaville, uMasizakhe, and Kroonvale.
This effort has been made possible by the recent donation of two tractor-loader-backhoes (TLBs) by the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and Enviroment recently.
The DBNLM Department of Infrastructure is working diligently to minimize these dumping sites and is calling on all residents to participate in this initiative.
The municipality reminds townspeople that garbage trucks collect rubbish twice a week and residents are urged to retain their garbage until collection day.
Queen Street and Sewende Laan (Seventh Avenue) have already been cleaned and the municipality is asking the community to maintain this cleanliness for a safer environment for everyone.
