GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Proudfoot 2025, recently played at the Graaff-Reinet Golf Club, had only positive reports of praise and feedback from the 114 players who played over the three days.
Club captain Derek Helm said: “Our course’s superb conditions and especially Johnny and his team were rightfully congratulated.
The local players had advantage on the greens with their knowledge of it. The support of our major sponsors was evident, with all of them being very visible over the three days.”
Day one was won by Arthur Short, day two by Paul van der Merwe and day three by Archie Welman. Welman was also the competition’s overall winner.
“Our hole-in-one for R50 000 was again won on the 15th hole by a visitor from Bloemfontein, Rickus Serfontein.
Another hole-in-one was played on day one, unfortunately, however, on the incorrect hole, and it didn’t qualify for the big prize,” Helm concluded.
