GEORGE NEWS - Following the annual George Old Car Show that roared and purred into life for the 29th time on Saturday 14 February, the excitement continues on 21 March.
Part of the allure of this year's car show was the opportunity to enter a raffle competition to win a classic Mercedes Benz!
The winner of the raffle, sponsored by the Southern Cape Old Car Club and MUA Insurance, will drive off behind the wheel of an iconic W123 Mercedes-Benz car.
The draw is taking place at the Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West on Saturday 21 March.
Sourced by Vajra Singh, CEO of MUA Insurance and Waldo Scribante, Chairman of the Southern Cape Old Car Club, the pristine W123 prize car, with less than 125 000km on the clock, was a huge attraction at the George Old Car Show.
Scribante says the event at Lourensford will see the continuation of celebrations around the 100 years of the Three-Pointed Star and form part of the activities of the Mercedes-Benz Club of South Africa (MBCSA), commemorating its 40th anniversary.
“We invite every owner of a W123 Mercedes-Benz, whether a club member or not, to attend the event at Lourensford, as we would like to gather as many W123s as possible to commemorate the 50th anniversary of this legendary model,” he says.
