GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The weekend's Disability Fun Walk was the first in the history of Graaff-Reinet and described as a breakthrough for local disabled people.
The NPOs, Singaphezulu Ngabeyesi and Hope For Education, joined hands to organise the event in which 70 people participated.
Four sport teams acted as ushers and assistants.
Mayor Willem Safers said the day was an eye-opener for many people and that the Dr Beyers Naudé Local Municipality will from now on do more for the disabled people of Graaff-Reinet.
The theme was 'Disabled physically but not in spirit' and the Disability Fun Walk will now become an annual event.
