GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The local business league bowls tournament came to a close on 1 December, with the full compliment of 36 teams competing for the top spot right to the end.
The business bowls has been running for six weeks, and with the top teams seeking to finish the tournament on a high, the last day of competition was fierce.
With just six points in it, the top team, Drostdy Toyota, took to the mat to play for all the bragging rights. The game remained close, and the position of top team wasn't decided right until the end.
Drostdy Toyota managed to defend their position at the top of the log and lay claim to the trophy. Nel Boerdery came second and Pick n Pay ended third.
Profcon Resorts' first team came dead last and walked off with the wooden spoon.
"It was a great success," says Hansie Jordaan, Graaff-Reinet Bowls Club president.
"All teams involved enjoyed every moment of our weekly league nights. The club would like to thank everyone for their support and making this league something to look forward to."
Jordaan invited residents to experience the excitement of the business league next year.Following the awards ceremony everyone enjoyed a scrumptious dinner and drinks.
