Assault with intent to seriously injure
In Kroonvale, a woman said that she was assaulted by a man with a walking stick on 6 July at 16:00. In what is described as domestic violence. the man hit her in the face and over her body. The suspect is known to the complainant.
Common assault
The complainant alleges that, in Asherville a man, his girlfriend and her children on 11 July at 17:50, were swearing at her, whereafter the man and woman assaulted her. The suspects are known to the complainant.
Common robbery
• At Stinkdraai on the Jansenville Road, a man alleges that on 13 July at 12:45, four suspects approached and threatened him.The suspects robbed him of R750 and ran away.
• On 14 July on Bourke Street, a man was assaulted and robbed of his belongings, including clothing and food. The suspect is known to the police.
Burglary
• On 10 July, a businesses owner locked his business and closed all windows. On returning the morning of 13 July, a window was broken to gain entrance. A laptop was stolen.
• Between 12 July and 13 July burglars, gained entrance to a Nieu-Bethesda business and stole alcohol to the value of R4 000.
• The back door of a house in Nieu-Bethesda was burgled between 9 July and 13 July. The back door was forced open to gain entry. A gas cylinder, braai stand, kettle and camping bag was stolen.
• Electric equipment to the value of R1 500 was stolen from a house on Kroonvale, between 18 July and 19 July. The door's lock was broken to gain entrance.
• On 12 July at 01:25, the complainant received a notification that there was movement at the golf club. On arrival, he found the workshop broken open. It is still unknown what is missing.
• Suspects on 20 July at 03:00 threw stones at an Asherville residence, breaking the windows. They then damage the doors with an axe and took property from inside the home.
• A man left his home on 11 July at 10:00 and on returning on 12 July at 13:30, a window was broken open to gain entry.Tupperware, curtains, sheetings, duvets and light bulbs were stolen.
Theft
• Four suspects entered a business and asked for water. They attacked the owner and stole empty bottles and electric equipment.
• At an Asherville home on 18 July at approximately 05:00, a vehicle's battery was stolen.
Stock theft
• Between 11 July and 12 July, a dorper sheep was stolen from a kraal in Nieu-Bethesda.
• Between 14 July and 17 July, 20 dorper sheep were stolen from a Graaff-Reinet farm.
Theft from motor vehicle
On 18 July at about 13:40, a truck driver parked his truck in front of a business on Church Street. He then fell asleep. When waking up, he found items were stolen from the back of the truck.
