GARDEN ROUTE & KAROO NEWS - There are no weather warnings from SA Weather Service (SAWS) for the Garden Route, Karoo region. SAWS has indicated that very cold conditions with light snowfalls are expected in places over the northern high-lying areas until Friday.

Regional weather forecast:

Western Cape
Partly cloudy and cold to cool. The wind along the coast will be moderate westerly to north-westerly, becoming light to moderate south-westerly in the afternoon, but moderate to fresh along the south coast. The expected UVB sunburn index: Low

Western half of the Eastern Cape
Partly cloudy and cool but cold over the high ground. The wind along the coast will be light to moderate north-westerly at first, otherwise moderate to fresh south-westerly.

Eastern half of the Eastern Cape
Partly cloudy and cold, but cool along the coast with light morning rain can be expected in the extreme east. The wind along the coast will be moderate south-westerly, but light in the afternoon.

Travellers forecast:

Yellow Level 3: Severe Thunderstorms resulting in travelling disruptions, localised flooding, large amounts of small hail and wind damage in parts of Limpopo, most of Mpumalanga Highveld and central and northern Gauteng.
