GRAAFF-REINET NEWS AND VIDEO - Ten-year-old Siyethaba Hlabisa's only wish for his birthday on 19 June was to give back to those in need, which he did through his Gift of Life project at Vuyani Safe Haven in Graaff-Reinet.
On the day, 33 children of the home each received a gift, party pack and shared a large birthday cake.
Siyethaba hopes he will be able to continue with the project each year on his birthday.
"You have to think deep down in your heart. Your heart will tell you to who you must give," he said about the project.

According to the youngster, his mother Nokulunga, inspires him to reach out to those in need, as she always supports and loves him.
Nokulunga said that when a person is blessed, they must also bless others, and the project is a dream come true for Siyethaba. Nokulunga and a friend, Kelly Smith, dug deep into their pockets to sponsor the first outreach, and they hope they will be able to get sponsors on board for the next project.
Siyethaba is originally from KwaZulu-Natal.
His mom moved to Graaff-Reinet to work as a lecturer at East Cape Midlands College. He will join her as a resident of the town next year.
An eight-month-old baby was the first to receive a gift.
