GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A huge drug find at Komani over the weekend has prevented R9m's worth of Mandrax tablets from reaching the streets.
According to Captain Namhla Mdleleni, media representative for Chris Hani District Commissioner Major General Rudolph Adolph, the drugs were seized when law enforcers followed up on a tip-off.
On Saturday evening, 8 February, Crime Intelligence members, together with K9 and Red Guard Security, followed up on information about a vehicle coming from Gauteng that was allegedly transporting drugs.
When the vehicle was spotted, it was stopped and searched, and 111 bags containing drugs were confiscated.
A 55-year-old man was arrested and charged for possession and dealing in drugs and was due to appear in Komani Magistrate's Court on Monday 10 February.
