KAROO NEWS - The national matric pass rate for 2019 is 81.3%, up from 78.2% in the previous year, and learners across the Karoo celebrated their results this morning (8 January).
Hoër Volkskool and Klipplaat Senior Secondary achieved a 100% pass rate.
According to the School Performance Report, released by the Department of Basic Education, the results of local schools were as follows:
- Hoër Volkskool: 100% pass rate (50 learners wrote the exam)
- Klipplaat Senior Secondary: 100% pass rate (1 learner wrote the exam)
- Cradock High School: 98,6% pass rate (71 of the 72 learners that wrote the exam passed)
- Marlow: 97,3% pass rate (36 of the 37 learners passed)
- Middelburg High School: 96,6% (28 of the 29 learners passed)
- Union High School: 91,4% pass rate (64 of the 70 learners passed)
- Nqweba Senior Secondary: 87% pass rate (47 of the 54 learners passed)
- High School Jansenville: 86,5% pass rate (32 of the 37 learners passed)
- Asherville Secondary High School: 77,6% pass rate (38 of 49 learners passed)
- Spandau Secondary: 68,1% (64 of 94 learners passed)
- Aberdeen Senior Secondary: 43,5% pass rate (10 of the 23 learners passed)
- Cookhouse Senior Secondary: 25% pass rate (5 of the 20 learners passed)
- Willowmore Senior Secondary: 40,8% pass rate (20 of the 49 learners passed)
