GRAAFF-REINET NEWS — On Friday, 13 July, two of Union High School's newest competitive shooters attended their very first Eastern Province Classic Championship.
The event, held at the Uitenhage Koedoeskloof shooting range, transpired in windy and wet weather but saw the shooters deliver excellent scores nonetheless.
Ryan Hobson participated in four events - air rifle open sight, air sport pistol, small bore rifle light open sight and small bore rifle silhouette open sight.
Kelly-Paige Scott participated in two events - air rifle open sight and air sport pistol.
Although the wind tended to be at its strongest when it was their turns to compete, the two shooters had their A-game ready and gave it their very best.
During the competition, Ryan and Kely-Paige also learned a few new tips of scoring and spotting for each other.
Their coach, Christelle van Eck, is proud of their brilliant scores and their positive attitude on the day.
