GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - In a cruel twist of fate, a second serious accident within a week has occurred on municipal property, with one person found dead at the scene.
This accident happened on Tuesday, 27 November, just after 15:00 at the Waste Transfer Station. The available information is currently sketchy, but Brigadier Rudolph Adolph, cluster commander for the Graaff Reinet district SAPS, confirmed that an incident occurred at the municipal dumping site in Graaff-Reinet.
“One female person was declared dead on the scene, and an inquest docket has been opened to determine the cause of death,” said Brig Adolph.
The name of the deceased is being withheld until her next-of-kin have been informed.
Brigadier Adolph also confirmed the rumour that a wall had collapsed onto the woman at the Waste Transfer Station, but until the results of the inquest are made known, it is not certain that this is what caused the woman’s death.
