HUMANSDORP NEWS - Two people have lost their lives while two sustained severe injuries, after two vehicles collided head on while driving on the N2 road in Humansdorp towards Plettenberg Bay.
Unathi Binqose, spokesperson for the Department of Traffic says that the incident occurred today 8 January at about 07:45 on the N2 road in Humansdorp at the Witteklip bridge towards Plettenberg Bay.
A Mini Cooper with one person (male) from Humansdorp direction heading to Plettenberg Bay collided with a Hyundai with three occupants (two males one female) from Plettenberg Bay heading to Humansdorp.
Two occupants from the Hyundai, a male driver and female passenger, died on impact.
The injured driver of the Mini Cooper and the other passenger of the Hyundai sustained severe injuries and were taken to Karriedouw Hospital for medical attention.
The main cause for the crash is still unknown at this stage, says Binqose.
A case of culpable homicide has been opened at Storms River Police for further investigations.
