ABERDEEN NEWS - During the night of 14 January, in two separate incidents, possible gender-based violence occurred in Aberdeen.
In the one incident a woman claimed she was assaulted by a friend of her husband.
The alleged assailant (known to the complainant) allegedly wanted to sexually assault her and according to her then assaulted her with a steel bar. Upon the husband’s appearance, the assailant allegedly fled the scene. A docket has been opened at the Aberdeen Police station.
In the other incident, a 36-year-old woman claims a male person sexually assaulted her. A case of sexual assault was opened at the Aberdeen Police station.
The complainant alleged that the assailant (also known to her) convinced her under false pretences at her house to accompany him to another friend elsewhere in need of her assistance.
As they were walking to the other person’s home they were close to an open field in Hoffman street, and it was at that moment that the man allegedly assaulted her. The Graaff-Reinet FCS are investigating.
