KAROO NEWS - Two people have died and the N10 between Cradock and Cookhouse remains closed after a four-truck collision on the road earlier today, 22 October.
According to a statement by the Eastern Cape Department of Transport, all four trucks were travelling towards Port Elizabeth when the accident occurred.
“It is alleged a truck drove in front of the others, and the vehicles may have slowed down or hit breaks for whatever reason,” the statement read. “The truck behind it rammed into its back, causing a domino effect.”
The Department of Transport said that a driver and his co-driver of one of the trucks succumbed to their injuries on scene, while the other drivers escaped unharmed.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
