GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Police are on the scene of a freak accident in Van der Byl Street in the Graaff-Reinet industrial area.
Two municipal workers have tragically lost their lives.
The men were busy with day to day maintenance, when one fell into a sewage pit.
The second worker tried to help him, but unfortunately also fell into the pit.
According to the local police, the men’s bodies have yet to be recovered, but it is presumed at this stage that they died from the effects of chemical gas burns.
