ABERDEEN NEWS - Aberdeen Police arrested 2 suspects and recovered a large amount of dagga after stopping a suspicious looking vehicle in Aberdeen on Thursday 14 January at 22.30.
Spokesperson Captain Bradley Rawlinson says relief members on patrol spotted a Toyota Corolla being driven in Thembalisizwe in Aberdeen during curfew.
The stopped the car and during their search of the vehicle found 78 packets of dagga weighing 15,67kg hidden in the vehicle. A substantial amount of cash was also recovered.
The 2 occupants, both 29 years of age, were arrested for dealing in drugs and were each issued a fine of R1 500 for breaking the curfew.
The suspects are to appear in Aberdeen Magistrates Court soon.
Aberdeen Station Commander Captain Benjamin Smith commended Sergeants Razodien Kombela, Jemille Green, Constables Christo Fortuin and Thindi Mgabile for the arrests.
