GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Hundreds of raffle tickets were sold after Union High launched a Trolley Dash fundraiser, in partnership with Pick n Pay, last term.
The three lucky winners, Zaré Grobler (three-minute dash), Phillida Kingwill (two- minute dash) and James Rose-Innes (one-minute dash), gathered at the local Pick n Pay on 17 November for a chance to fill their trolleys with whatever their hearts desired; within the given time, of course!
The winners made off with a variety of goodies, including chocolates, speciality coffees and meat. Teacher Lou-Anne Gerber's Grade 6G class and their parents also got to join the fun, as the class sold the most raffle tickets.
The class was allowed a 30-second dash by Pick n Pay's Cheryl Waddelow, to find snacks for an end-of-year class party.
"We wish to thank Pick n Pay for their generosity in sponsoring this fundraiser," the school said. "It was great fun for all involved!"
