ROBERT SOBUKWE TOWN NEWS - Bargain hunters, book lovers and supporters of a worthy cause are invited to visit the annual Camdeboo Hospice Stoep Sale on Thursday 26 June to enjoy a variety of treasures and tasty treats, and enjoy some community spirit.
The popular fundraising event will take place from 09:30 to 12:00 at the Camdeboo Hospice.
“This is your opportunity to buy incredible bargains while supporting a wonderful cause,” said Susan van der Linde, manager of Camdeboo Hospice.
Over the years, the Hospice shop has earned a reputation for its wide selection of bric-a-brac, vintage items and books, making it a favourite destination for collectors and avid readers.
“Our Hospice Shop will be wide open and packed with treasures just waiting to be found,” said Van der Linde.
“We would love everyone to come and browse through. We also have slightly worn clothing to refresh and update your winter wardrobe, and we promise many unique finds that you will cherish for years to come.”
Visitors are encouraged to arrive hungry, as a selection of refreshments will be available throughout the morning. The menu will include boerewors rolls, freshly brewed coffee, tea, cake and muffins.
“For those who are looking to trim down during winter, coffee and tea will also be served without snacks,” Van der Linde joked, “but then you will miss out until next year.”
Funds raised during the Stoep Sale will go directly towards supporting the services provided by Camdeboo Hospice, a registered non-profit organisation that offers holistic home-based palliative care to people living with life-threatening illnesses.
The organisation’s services focus primarily on patients affected by HIV/Aids, cancer and motor neurone disease.
In 2013, Camdeboo Hospice expanded its services to include a programme for patients with multi-drug-resistant and extensively drug-resistant tuberculosis.
The organisation serves communities throughout the Camdeboo district, providing care, regardless of a patient’s age, gender, ethnicity, religious background or financial circumstances.
A team of six dedicated caregivers provides support and care in patients’ homes, helping to improve quality of life and offering comfort to families in difficult times.
“Every purchase made at the Stoep Sale helps us continue providing these essential services,” said Van der Linde.
“Bring your family, bring your friends, and let’s make a difference together.”
