GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - Fundraising for the Graaff-Reinet SPCA was recently put into the capable hands of volunteer Ronel Krige, and one of her first projects has been a raffle of pampering treats for Mothers' Day.
The raffle was a great success. The winners were drawn on Friday 3 May. Magda Zerwick, Ann Murray, Ronel Krige, Linda Alberts, Jennie Kroon and Elmene Killian all received a prize and a total of R5 550 was raised.
This would not have been possible without the generous donations from local sponsors Elmarie van den Berg, Ninky Bekker, Ulrike Vorster, Sonneke Erasmus, Marche Holtzhausen and Carlin Loots.
On Friday the SPCA had a stall in front of Spandau Spar selling boerewors rolls and soup, as well as some second hand books and bric-a-brac. Donations for the ingredients were received from Charlet Passmore, Wessel Fourie, Nicolene van Rensburg, Milanie Jordaan, Gawie Rossouw and Jacky Norton.
The stall raised R4 314, bringing the total generated by the two events to almost R10 000.
