CRICKET NEWS - On Saturday 18 November the Stallions Cricket Club travelled to Murraysburg to face the local side in a 50-over match.
In a run-fest, Stallions scored 264 all out in 42 overs at over six runs per over.
Jean Pierre Phillips scored a glorious century - 109 runs with 13 fours and two sixes. There were also useful knocks by Donovan Joubert (44); Samuel Bantom (36) and Michael Bantom (29).
Selwyn Plaatjies was the star bowler for Murraysburg, taking 5 wickets for 41 in 9 overs.
In their run chase, Murraysburg were bowled out for 184 runs in 27,3 overs. Although the home team scored their runs at the required run rate, they lost wickets at regular intervals to go down by 80 runs.
Useful contributions came from Niklaas Claasen (42) and Kerneels Plaatjies (46).
Benjamin September (3 for 29) and Ashwell Adams (3 for 49) were the main wicket-takers for the Stallions.
