STERKSTROOM NEWS - When vigilant farmers in the Sterkstroom district detected six hunters with eight dogs entering a camp on Saturday afternoon, they immediately alerted the police and the department of nature conservation.
Vehicles were dispatched to the scene and according to Captain Namhla Mdleleni, media officer of the Chris Hani District, the suspects admitted they were in the camp for the sole purpose of hunting with their dogs.
The men were arrested for illegal hunting and the dogs were confiscated and placed in safe care at the Komani SPCA.
However, all suspects were released on a warning.
