PEARSTON NEWS - Ivan Fillis has been promoted from Warrant Officer at the Cookhouse Police Station to Captain and Station commander of the Pearston Police.
Fillis started his career in the SA Police Service in 1992 and after completing his training at Bishop Lavis College in Cape Town, took up a post as Constable at the Cookhouse Police.
In 1996 Fillis was promoted to Sergeant at the Visible Policing Unit where he initially worked as shift commander and later as community policing official.
He was promoted to Warrant Officer at the Cookhouse Police Station in 2000.
In 1999 Fillis qualified as Hostage and Suicide Negotiator, and during 2002 he completed the Tactical Trainer course. For the past 10 years, he has been active as Vispol Commander, Rural Sector Commander and Tactical Training Co-ordinator of the old Cradock cluster.
Acting Sarah Baartman District Commissioner, Brigadier John Lebok, congratulated Captain Fillis and welcomed him to the Pearston Police as Station Commander.
