ABERDEEN NEWS — Illegal dumping in some areas of Aberdeen is becoming a serious problem, and some residents are becoming very frustrated at the lack of response from the municipality.
There is a track used by pedestrians to get to the hospital, from Parliament Street, that seems to have become a real dumping site. Even used nappies are left there, amongst all the plastic and metal rubbish.
One resident, who lives in the area, has phoned the municipality on several occasions, and sent photos to the local administrator, but has not received any response. People have been seen loading their rubbish onto wheelbarrows and taking it to the area and just dumping it, rather than putting into black bags for the municipality to remove on their weekly collections.
Other areas have fortunately improved, and a resident of Church Street commented that two new “no dumping” signs have been erected at the end of the street.
The accumulated rubbish in the area has also been cleared up.
