GRAAFF-REINET — Excitement is mounting for the second Summit Wildlife Auction to be held in Graaff-Reinet on Saturday, September 30, during the Karoo-lus Festival.
Some of the lots on offer are of an even higher standard than at last year’s inaugural event.
The highlights among the offering include an 18" springbuck ram from Jules of the Karoo, 43" gemsbuck bulls from Jules of the Karoo and Jordi van Hasselt, and four buffalo females from Johann Rupert, carrying genes from the 53" Grootbaas.
An array of exceptional young sable sires from Tina de Jager and Petra Scholtz are also on offer, carrying genes from Madala, Black Jack, Jimmy, Savuti and Nike, most of the top genetics in South Africa.
Many 17", 16" and smaller springbuck will be available, as well as 42", 41" and smaller gemsbuck bulls. Also included are several lots for those with a limited budget.
The full variety of animals on offer can be seen on the company’s website www.summitwildlife.co.za.
This year, to accommodate the bigger offering, there will be a silent auction run for some of the lots. It will start before the main auction and close after it has finished. Once again the acclaimed Brandon Leer will be the auctioneer, and the Summit team will be on hand to streamline buyer registration.
The free delivery on lots sold on the main auction will again (as last year) provide buyers the peace of mind to know that they do not have to worry about getting the animals to their reserves or farms, it will be done for them.
There will be free insurance for delivery and for 30 days after delivery on all lots.
On Friday evening, there will be a Karoo braai, where the speaker will be Norman Adami, former chairman of South African Breweries, and one of the leading game farmers in South Africa.
Place is limited, and anyone wishing to attend should contact Summit by emailing info@summitwildlife.co.za, or phone Neil Dodds 082 7752434 or Hennie Barnard 082 491 7783.
