Protesters demand basic human rights
The residents of Vrygronde informal settlement in Graaff-Reinet have been staging protest action from 06:00 this morning.

GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - A crowd of approximately 140 protesters from the Vrygronde informal settlement have have been staging protest action on the N9 opposite Umasizakhe, Graaff Reinet since 06:00 this morning. 

The protesters were burning tyres and have blockaded the N9 road with rocks, demanding that basic human rights such as electricity, running water and better living and health conditions be installed.
