GRAAFF-REINET NEWS - The Graaff- Reinet SAPS are doing their best to ensure tourists' safety during the festive season.
Police Spokesperson, Captain Bradley Rawlinson, said on Monday 2 December that the Graaff-Reinet Cluster Police have started their festive season operations.
According to Rawlinson, they and traffic services will conduct vehicle checkpoints and roadblocks in town, as well as surrounding towns, daily.
Rawlinson warned that businesses will be visited daily and compliance inspections will be conducted.
To do their best to make sure that tourists and residents are safe in town, police vehicles will patrol all residential and business areas daily. "Regular foot patrols, focusing on safety on the streets and vehicle safety, will be conducted."
Rawlinson added that regular awareness campaigns, focusing on tourist safety at hotels, guesthouses and other accommodation places, are being conducted.
