NIEU-BETHESDA NEWS — Although the snowy white spectacle of pear blossoms arrived a few weeks later than normal this year, the sight of the ancient pear trees in bloom has been as beautiful as ever in Nieu-Bethesda.
Heavy wind and rains shook many of the flowers free of the trees this past week, carpeting dusty roads and puddles with whiteness.
‘Manna’ - the picturesque cake and coffee shop in Pienaar street - was draped in a veil of pear blossom much to the delight of its clientele.
The accompanying photographs were captured by Nieu-Bethesda resident André du Toit.
